About Second Rise

Second Rise, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by grassroots organizers and business professionals who saw a need for more accessible resources for returned citizens in our communities. Shalonda Hill, our founder, brought together thought leaders in communications, academia, and government to further expand her vision. 

Second Rise strives to contribute to a society where the stigma of the past does not define one's future. By fostering collaboration between our clients, local community agencies, and stakeholders, we aim to build a Second Rise for each individual we serve—a rise marked by resilience, empowerment, and a renewed sense of purpose. 

Together, we work towards a future where everyone has the chance to rise above their circumstances, embrace their full potential, and contribute positively to the fabric of our communities. 

At Second Rise, we believe in the transformative power of a second chance fueled by radical compassion and empowerment for returned citizens by providing comprehensive support services.

We are dedicated to paving the way for successful reintegration into society! Our services include but are not limited to: Workforce and housing application assistance, training programs, and mental health assistance, coupled with community resource management, life skills development, transportation assistance, social activities, personalized care plans, and support groups.

Our commitment is to provide the opportunity for everyone we encounter to build a meaningful, independent life after incarceration. We are committed to breaking down barriers and fostering a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, self-sufficiency, and community engagement.
